20 Months - 3 years old

K’Tanim, or “little ones,” is a warm and loving way for toddlers to be introduced to camp. With a program specifically designed by early childhood educators, K’Tanim campers learn socialization and comfort around others in a nurturing and caring environment. This program takes place at the JCC Sara Walker Nursery School at Temple Sinai.

  • K’Tanim is for campers 20 months to 3 years old    
  • Half-day sessions (9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.)
  • 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-day options
  • Staff are early childhood educators from the JCC Sara Walker Nursery School      
  • Balanced, age-appropriate curriculum
  • Snack provided daily
  • Fun programs include: art, music, outdoor and water play, story time and more!
  • Campers do not need to be potty trained

The perfect transition between School and Camp
3- through 5-year-olds (5s going into Kindergarten)

Gesher, or “bridge,” is our bridge program during the intersession between preschool and camp! This 9 am to 1 pm program includes free swim, sports, and crafts! We offer two 1-week sessions held at the Stamford JCC.

The Perfect Introduction to Day Camps@The J
3- & 4-year-old

Chaverim, or “Friends,” is an exciting program for your preschoolers and is the perfect starting point at Day Camps@The J. This program emphasizes building social skills and developing fine-motor skills in a stimulating environment. Chaverim campers enjoy their own age-appropriate facilities, and a program tailored to fit their needs.

  • Chaverim is for campers ages 3 and 4 years old
  • The program is built on a 5-day schedule
  • Half-day session with full-day extensions available
  • Low camper-to-staff ratios
  • Daily instructional swim in the JCC’s premier learn-to-swim program with professional instructors
  • Balanced, age-appropriate curriculum with introductions to a wide variety of sports and camp activities
  • Daily programs to satisfy young children’s love of art, music and creative expression
  • All Chaverim groups are led by adult female counselors
  • Special Friday Shabbat BBQ lunch
  • Enrollment includes a snack, swim instruction and all programs and special events!

Kindergarten - 2nd grade

Bonim, or “Builders,” enjoy a wide range of exciting activities within a nurturing camp setting. Our attentive staff members help Bonim campers enjoy new experiences and friendships as they develop skills like communication, sharing and friendship building, all while having a blast! The Bonim program is a perfect combination of traditional camps and the ability to specialize in an activity. Bonim campers enjoy the freedom of choice by choosing their afternoon electives. Bonim campers also get their first experience of camp traditions like Color War, field trips, and thrilling entertainers.

  • Bonim is for campers entering Kindergarten through 2nd grade
  • The program is built on a full-day / 5-day weekly schedule
  • 2 swims daily – instructional swim with the JCC’s premier learn-to-swim program with professional instructors, and afternoon free swim
  • Balanced, age-appropriate programs with a wide variety of sports, arts and crafts, dance, science and much more!
  • All Bonim Kindergarten groups are led by adult female counselors
  • Afternoon electives: campers have the freedom of choice with two electives per week from a menu of amazing activities, including cooking, dance, low ropes adventure course, field sports and more!
  • Participation in Day Camps@The J weekly Color War
  • Special Friday Shabbat BBQ lunch
  • Weekly trips and special entertainment
  • Enrollment includes 2 snacks, swim instruction, all programs, and special events and trips

The Tzofim, or “Scouts,” program is designed to help each camper develop into the person he/she strives to become. As the middle age group in camp, Tzofim campers take advantage of all that Day Camps@The J has to offer. The age-appropriate program is designed with a challenging curriculum that holds Tzofim campers’ attention. Centered around choice, campers in this program have the opportunity to craft their afternoon schedule based on individual interests. Our warm and spirited staff help Tzofim campers learn lifelong skills like collaboration, creativity, and thinking outside the box, all in a positive and safe environment.

  • Tzofim is for campers entering 3rd through 5th grade
  • 2 swims daily – instructional swim with the JCC’s premier learn-to-swim program with professional instructors, and afternoon free swim
  • Age-appropriate and challenging programs including the full range of Day Camps@The J activities
  • Afternoon electives: campers have the freedom of choice with two electives per week from a menu of amazing activities, including dual ziplines, archery, rocketry, cooking, guitar, set design and more!
  • Participation in Day Camps@The J weekly Color War
  • Special Friday Shabbat BBQ lunch
  • Weekly trips and special entertainment

6th - 8th Grade

Na’arim, or “Youth,” is an innovative program for older campers that will engage middle-school campers. Na’arim’s challenging, age-appropriate program provides campers with the opportunity to practice life skills like critical thinking, problem solving and social skills. Na’arim campers enjoy exclusive aspects of camp, like bigger and better field trips, off-site overnights, community-service projects and leadership positions in Color War!

  • Na’arim is for campers entering 6th through 8th grade
  • Weekly community service projects that help campers learn about tikkun olam (repairing the world) and feel a sense of belonging in their community
  • Daily afternoon free swim
  • Balanced, age-appropriate and challenging programs including the full range of Day Camps@The J activities
  • Afternoon electives: campers have the freedom of choosing two electives per week from a menu of amazing activities, including dual ziplines, archery, rocketry, cooking, guitar, taekwondo, fine arts, set design and more!
  • Leading Day Camps@The J weekly Color War by picking the themes, team names and “Na’arim-only” activities to close Color War
  • Special Friday Shabbat BBQ lunch
  • Weekly trips and special entertainment, including two overnight trips during the summer
